Istæv

by Swain Wodening

Istæv is first mentioned in Pliny's history and Tacitus' Germania as progenitor of the tribal grouping Istævaeones, and a son of Mannus. Otherwise he is unknown in the Lore. Grimm theorizes that his name should be Iscio and therfore comparable to Old Norse Ask, the first man.
